Where in the World?

One of the reasons we are going on this epic adventure, or rather one of the reasons we CAN GO on this epic adventure is that our daughter decided to serve a mission for our church! She got her call on July 25th, 2016 and will be serving for 18 months in Edmonton, Canada! She is so excited to go and serve the people there and we are so thrilled for her (this momma heart is trying to keep it together). What better way for us to endure the loneliness of our only child flying the coop then to downsize to a travel trailer and see this beautiful country, all the while making a living as an artist? It's brilliant right?

We love you sweet Sam!

Dave Started Looking for a Trailer

We had family in town for a few weeks, so we started sorting things. My mom came to go through all her stuff in the garage, and my sister helped me clean in the Studio! Dave and Tim had a chance to go look at trailers, it was the first time this all seemed a bit real--or maybe it seemed even more surreal, my hubby looking for a camper trailer? Wow.  We'll mostly likely buy a used one, but the new ones were all they had on the lot (they didn't have much inventory!).

We're going on a great expedition!

We're hitting the road in 2017! Perhaps it would be a better story to tell you that we've been thinking about this for years and the time has finally come for us to live our dream. But, the real truth is we came up with this idea on Friday, and decided to maybe, just maybe believe were were serious. By today, we decided to just go for it! This is so out of character for me (I am a hermit to my very core) that I have to believe this idea is coming from somewhere else. It scares us beyond words and yet thrills us to the bones, it feels more right than anything has in a very long time... and... somehow... someway... it's all going to workout. Deciding to travel the country as working artists sounds like we're mad, but according to my favorite books, all the very best people usually are!

Sometimes, to find inspiration, you need to spread your wings to push yourself to experience new destinations.
